At Connors Toy Libraries, we’re proud to have a fantastic team of dedicated volunteers, but we’re always looking for more passionate people to join us.

Volunteering at a community Toy Library group is a great way to support families across Portsmouth, meet new people and make a real difference through play.

  • We welcome volunteers from all walks of life, whether you're a parent, student, retiree or just someone with a bit of spare time. No previous experience is needed, just a willingness to help and a passion for supporting children and families.

    Volunteer roles require a DBS, at no cost to you.

    Full Training will be given.

  • Some volunteers help run one group a week, , while others choose to do two. Groups run for around two hours.

    • Setting up and packing away toys

    • Welcoming families and helping them choose toys

    • Supporting play sessions — chatting with parents, engaging with children, and creating a positive atmosphere

    • Keeping toys clean, safe, and organised

    • Promoting the Toy Library’s services and encouraging new members to join

    You don’t need special qualifications just a friendly attitude, reliability and a willingness to help. Full guidance and training is provided and you’ll always be part of a supportive team
